Hospice Cleveland County was founded in 1985 with a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients and their families during some of life’s most challenging moments. Over the years, it has grown from a local hospice care provider to a significant healthcare organization in the region. In 2023, Hospice Cleveland County rebranded as VIA Health Partners, proudly extending its services to 32 counties across North and South Carolina. This change reflects the organization's broader mission while continuing to uphold the values that have guided it since its inception.

VIA Health Partners, formerly Hospice Cleveland County, operates two inpatient facilities: the Wendover Hospice House and the Testa Family Hospice House. Wendover Hospice House, located in Shelby, NC, has been a cornerstone of compassionate care in the community, providing a home-like environment where patients receive around-the-clock care tailored to their needs. The Testa Family Hospice House, situated in Kings Mountain, NC, also offers a peaceful setting for those in need of specialized end-of-life care. Both facilities are designed to support not only patients but also their families, offering a sanctuary where dignity and comfort are paramount.

Throughout its history, Hospice Cleveland County, now VIA Health Partners, has been deeply rooted in the community, continually evolving to meet the needs of those it serves while maintaining a compassionate approach that respects the dignity of every individual. The organization’s comprehensive range of services, including inpatient care, palliative care, and grief support, ensures that patients and their families receive holistic care that addresses both physical and emotional needs. By expanding its reach and services, VIA Health Partners remains dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those facing serious illness across a wider region.
